Background & Experience

Melanie graduated from Queen Margaret University (UK) with a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) in Occupational Therapy. Since graduating, she has worked across different settings in Singapore, including private practice, early intervention centres, schools and homes. She is well equipped to assess and support children with a variety of diagnoses and challenges. Melanie enjoys working with children of all ages. 

Melanie is committed to developing and expanding her knowledge through postgraduate training, courses and hands-on experience. She recently completed a postgraduate certification in Sensory Integration from Ulster University (UK).

Approach

Melanie highly values a holistic approach in which each child is viewed as being an individual, with their own unique profile of skills and challenges. She sees her role as helping children thrive and reach their full potential in their daily activities such as play, learning, self-care and socialising. Melanie’s loving, gentle and fun nature allows her to easily connect with children. She believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and is passionate about the power of play in therapy sessions.

She enjoys working closely with families, teachers and other professionals involved in the child’s journey.

Personal

In her free time, Melanie loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys travelling, exploring and learning about other cultures. Melanie comes from Mauritius and speaks English and French fluently.
